Karawang, Indonesia, 10 March 2023
PT HM Sampoerna appreciates and awards two Decorient staff, Agus Gustami (Supervisor) and Yayat Surpiyatna (HSE Advisor), for their good performance in promoting and demonstrating a safe work culture. The award was given during the Contractor Safety Performance Monthly Meeting (10/03/2023) which was attended virtually by HM Sampoerna representatives and all contractor representatives working at the HMS Karawang Plant. The selection of these two staff to receive the award was made after HMS Global (Safety) Audit team visited Decorient work area at the RRP Phase 2 Project, Karawang Plant HM Sampoerna, on March 7th, 2023.
The HMS Global Audit team witnessed firsthand the process of demonstrating working safely in the work area through the DCU (Daily Catch Up) program where this program is routinely carried out every day. The Decorient Team explained how to work safely in daily routine activities to workers who work in the field. Daily performance checks consist of BOS (Best Observation System), near miss cases, vendor cases, and safety triggers.
The DCU that day began with an explanation on how to fill in the BOS (Best Observation System) according to HMS procedures by Agus Gustami (Supervisor). The event continued with explaining the daily actions and JSA (Job Safety Analysis) by Yayat Surpiyatna (HSE Advisor). The DCU activity ends with a Safety Trigger which is an explanation of the triggers that could create a potential hazard in the work area consisting of 15 points. In the DCU process, work tools, PPE are also checked and finally verification of supporting documents availability in the field consisting of PAS, Organizational Structure, ERT, worker ID cards, worker competency certificates for all workers who need competence in their jobs.
