A contract to deliver the construction of an IKEA store in Jakarta, Indonesia for PT Archipelago Property Development, a subsidiary of The Dairy Farm International Group.
Decorient delivered the five storeys furniture and home products department store, which includes two basements and three retail floors, of approximately 90,000 square metres. This largest IKEA store in Indonesia is located in the Jakarta Garden City area, East Jakarta.
The concrete structure of the building consisted of heavy precast hollow core slab panels, around 3000 panels to be exact. To lift the precast panel and install it to its designated location, own designed proprietary gantry crane was utilised. This innovation played a vital role in the award of the project due to the site and time constraint.
The approximately €40 million project took 23 months to complete, in challenging COVID-19 time. Work started as of May 2019 and was completed by April 2021.
